Flag Lease Program

The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise invites you to join your friends and neighbors in McKinney in displaying the U.S. flag on five major holidays of 2011. The Flag Lease Program is the primary fundraiser for the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise to provide health, humanitarian, and youth service programs throughout our community, nation and world. We purchase the flags, display, store, and maintain them—it is all done for you. The flags are the property of Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise.

2012 Flag Holidays

The Rotarians, Boy Scouts, and youth partners will deliver, set, and pick up flags on the following dates:

  • Memorial Day from Saturday, May 26, through Tuesday, May 29
  • Flag Day from Wednesday, June 13, through Saturday, June 16
  • Independence Day from Tuesday July 3, through Thursday, July 5
  • Labor Day from Saturday, September 1, through Wednesday, September 12
  • Veterans Day from Saturday, November 10, through Tuesday, November 13
  • Delivery Service Area

Our delivery service boundaries in McKinney, Texas, are:

  • East of Custer Road,
  • North of McKinney Ranch Road,
  • South of Highway 380, and
  • West of Highway 75.
  • Click Here to see a Map of our service area.

When you lease a flag, we will install a PVC plastic sleeve with a cap in the ground near your front curb. No brackets or fixtures are attached to your home. On each of the five holidays, a 3’ x 5’ U. S. flag mounted on a 10-foot metal pole is placed in the sleeve. In doing so, you accept responsibility to advise the install team on the placement location for the PVC plastic sleeve to avoid sprinklers, plumbing, and electrical service hazards. It is also your responsibility to ensure that the plastic sleeve does not rise above the surface of the ground where it could become a hazard to lawn equipment.

Our delivery service boundaries include established routes in Stonebridge Ranch and Eldorado neighborhoods: East of Custer Road, North of McKinney Ranch Road, South of Highway 380, and West of Highway 75. To order a flag by mail, click on the "Printable Flag Lease Application Form" below

    Instructions for Proper Flag Care

Please put the flag on your porch each night and put it out again in the morning. Do not leave the flag outside in inclement weather. If the flag should get wet, please let it dry before rolling it for storage.

Please note that your flag will need to fly on the scheduled day of pickup, rain or shine. The Rotary Club will leave the flag in place at your residence until it is dry.
